Britney Spears Rear Ended A Car!

The pop princess was behind the wheel her white Mercedes SL down Sunset around 2:10 PM this afternoon. Brit wa when she rear-ended a red Ford Explorer driven by a Latina woman in her 30s. Luckily, neither Britney nor the other driver (or, for that matter, Britney's bodyguard, who had been riding shotgun in her Mercedes) was injured, although Brit's car sustained some damage to the front. Britney stayed in her car during the accident while her bodyguard hashed out the details with the other driver, who then followed Britney's Mercedes back to the Summit. After no more than 15 minutes, the driver emerged from the house. Britney (who was seen texting on her phone earlier) was in the right lane on Sunset, behind the maroon Ford Explorer, when the cars in the left hand lane got a green light to turn left on Hillcrest. Britney saw the cars in the left lane accelerating in her peripheral vision, and thought she had a green light as well. That's when the minor incident occured. Although both cars sustained very minor damage, luckily there don't seem to be any injuries. Click the picture below to access the entire set.

May 6th - Britney Leaving Courtroom Relieved!

As we first reported, Brit will get three days of supervised visitation
per week. Sources tell us within a month she will also have overnight
visitation with her kids.

We're told Commish Scott Gordon was
extremely impressed with Brit's progress today. It was a different
story a few months back when she completely pissed him off. The Commish
was somewhat blown away by her progress.

The goal, we're told,
is to ramp it up over the next few months so that Brit gets 50/50
custody, right back where she started from.

Friends Shocked About Thier Marriage...

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon's recent wedding not only surprised fans, but their friends and close associates, too.

"I'm shell shocked," a source in Carey's camp tells PEOPLE. "As far as I know, they are happy together."

Music mogul Russell Simmons said he didn't know about the nuptials ahead of time, but sees why the pairing works. "Whatever makes them happy," he said Friday. "They have a lot in common and should have a lot of fun together."

Even Cannon's family was surprised by the move. "It's crazy right! We're definitely happy. Well wishes!" Cannon's brother, Gabriel, tells PEOPLE. "I'm trying to be like him and I love him very much."

Another insider says the newlyweds didn't know each other before Carey's video shoot for her song "Bye, Bye" in the Caribbean on March 26. "Nick was cast as the romantic lead and was flown to Antigua where they met so basically their [romance] started during the shoot," the insider says, adding, "She's very into religion and Nick is very into religion. That's something they bonded on."

Whatever their connection, Jacob Arabo, who created the diamond sparkler that the actor gave the singer as an engagement ring, tells PEOPLE that his friend is in love with Carey.

Still, others seem more dubious of the whirlwind romance.

"This is what Nick does; Nick is such a sucker for love," said a source close to Cannon. "He falls in love so quick."

Adds another Cannon insider: "We all thought it was a joke, but he's been impulsive before. He's a mini mogul but still young and maybe this was a crush that went too far.

"Well see. He takes awhile to come down from the cloud."

Kevin Federline used to dread talking to ex-wife Britney Spears. In fact, when hed look down at his phone and see her number, Kevin would often groan, says a friend of his. But that seems to have changed. When Britney called him one recent afternoon, Kevins tone was soft and cheery.

"Hey, lady," Kevin said, according to his friend, who was there at the time. "What" up? The friend tells Life & Style that Kevin, 30, and Britney, 26, then chatted for several minutes. It was an enormous emotional leap for a couple who just months ago were exchanging messages only via their lawyers in court during their heated custody battle.

Its such a huge change, says Kevins friend. It hasnt been like this between them in forever.

Still, while romance may be in the cards, a Spears family insider says Kevins primary motivation for getting back with Britney is the well-being of their sons. Kevins stayed friendly with Britneys dad, the Spears family insider says. And hes told [her dad] Jamie how much he wants the boys to have a real family. But he doesnt want to push Britney. Hes afraid too much pressure would cause a relapse and he really doesnt want that to happen.

And Kevin does recognize the practical side of a reconciliation. Kevins attracted to the lifestyle Britney can afford him, a second pal of Kevins notes.
